Introduction
Support work continues to remain a challenge, collapses and other incidents featuring regularly in the media, and in industry anecdotes.
The presentation will be of relevance to architects, Construction H&S Agents / Managers / Officers, engineers, inspectors, project managers, quantity surveyors, and all interested construction role players.
Dévan Venter, Lead Engineer, PERI, based in Durban, will present ‘Considerations essential to safe temporary works design and execution’ focusing on: what is temporary works; important design considerations – support systems; importance of correct implementation on site; examples of projects, and examples of dangerous practises on sites, and how to rectify (50 minutes, and 10 minutes for questions).
